As One Zero Energy embarks on our next chapter of growth, our brand is evolving. Introducing POP: People Owned Power.
Same people, same mission. Complete with a new look to better represent our approach to putting power back in people’s hands. It’s people-first, accessible, engaging, and something a bit different.
In this article, we will explain:
🧠 Our thinking behind the brand evolution
💡 Our plans as POP
🫵 What the new brand means for you
The story behind our new name
We started One Zero to get everyone to net zero. But people don’t back zeros. They buy into something. Something real, something nuanced, something more lively than a one-zero binary.
We wanted a new identity that feels fresh and inclusive. That represents neighbours working together. That celebrates local tradespeople building their skills and businesses. That shows how lower bills doesn’t have to mean less, when renewable energy is abundant.
At a community event, our CEO Howard posed that we are working towards people-owned power. “Is that your name?” an audience member piped up. We listened.
POP stands for People Owned Power. But it’s also an invite to stand for something more. It declares: Piss Off, Polluters. It celebrates the Power of Plenty. It invites the Potential of Positivity.
New name, same mission
Our look is different, but we are the same team of passionate people. We work with the same network of trusted tradespeople and the same tried-and-tested kit. We’re delivering the same high-quality home renewable systems.
Our mission is the same: lower bills and more secure energy through renewable systems, at home. Putting the power in the hands of people, so households can invest in local energy and tradespeople - instead of sending money to polluting fossil fuel companies.
It’s still us, here to guide you toward the best renewable energy solution for your home.

How POP is bursting forward
We have a fresh new look, and we’re going to use it. We will be sharing more clear communications that guide and support our community, wherever they are on their journey.
With a stronger sense of who we are, backed with systems to scale, we will be stepping forward as thought leaders. Sharing insights on community-driven energy transformation. Amplifying the opportunities that flexibility markets bring to all.
Our roadmap is all about increasing the speed and scale of our ambitions, to get the power into more people’s hands - where it belongs.
What does this mean for you?
Currently, we're reaching out to our communities. Customers past and present, Street Power Champions, trusted tradespeople, suppliers and other collaborators. It’s loosely the same message: no action needed, our service remains the same.
What you might notice is an increase in clearer communications, more accessible resources, and even more ways to get involved.
In summary
More than a new name, POP is a clearer commitment to our mission: putting people first in the energy transition. Same team, same mission, stronger voice. We are empowering communities to install, generate, store and share their own renewable energy so bills go down, energy security goes up, and power flows to where it belongs: in the hands of people.

Why did you change your name from One Zero to POP?
As we grow, we want to put our commitment to communities front and centre of our name. That’s why we went for POP. It stands for People Owned Power, and so much more (Power of Plenty, Piss Off Polluters, Potential of Positivity…). It’s a clearer expression of our mission to put power in the hands of the people.
Does this change affect my installation or system?
Not at all - our same team will keep working with our trusted tradespeople to deliver a top quality service to you.
What’s different between POP and One Zero?
The only difference is the name and branding that we’re operating under. Our mission, values, commitments and services stay the same.
Will the new brand affect my contract or warranty?
Not at all - all agreements with One Zero remain valid with POP.
How does the new brand help households like mine?
Our new brand is all about making renewable energy systems more accessible and easier to understand. This means clearer communications, backed with a more structured approach to strengthening communities.
